How the Run Works
Check In & Join a Team
Check in with staff before entering your assigned court. Players form their own teams of five, with everyone included—including players arriving on their own.
When a court is full, three teams rotate through games.
Play to 11 or 15 Minutes
Each game ends when a team reaches 11 points or the 15-minute time limit is reached, whichever comes first. At the time limit, the team with the higher score wins.
If the score is tied, the team that has been on the court longer rotates off. For the first game, use a coin toss to determine which team stays.
Keep the Rotation Moving
The winning team stays for a maximum of two consecutive games. The waiting team plays next.
After a team’s second consecutive game, that team rests and the other two teams play—even if the resting team won.
Keep Teams Balanced
If matchups feel uneven, players can agree together to remake teams for more balanced, enjoyable games. Keep the process quick and make sure everyone remains included.
Finish on Time
The final game starts 15 minutes before the run ends: 8:15 PM on Thursdays and 9:15 PM on Sundays. All play ends at 8:30 PM on Thursdays and 9:30 PM on Sundays, regardless of the score.
What to Bring
Bring basketball shoes, water, and a white shirt and a dark shirt—or a reversible jersey if you have one. Having both colors helps players tell teams apart, but it is optional.
Respect the Game. Respect Each Other.
We want our runs to be a place where people enjoy playing and feel welcome returning.
- Games are self-officiated. Call your own fouls honestly and resolve disagreements respectfully.
- Include every registered player in team formation and rotations.
- Follow the posted game rules and staff directions.
- Threats, fighting, and harassment will result in immediate removal and may result in suspension or a permanent ban from Basketball Nation facilities.
- If a disagreement cannot be resolved calmly, pause play and notify staff.
Staff decisions regarding participation and conduct are final.
