    A four-month defensive development series focused on building the skills, awareness, and mindset needed to become an elite defender. Players will develop individual defense, team concepts, and game-changing habits through high-intensity drills and competitive game situations.

    Lockdown Mentality Defensive Series

    Select a monthly session below to learn what players will work on throughout the defensive series

    Stay in front. Eliminate easy baskets.

    Players will develop the foundation of elite individual defense by improving stance, footwork, closeouts, and the ability to contain the basketball. Through competitive drills and game-speed situations, athletes will learn how to pressure the ball, force difficult shots, and become more confident defenders.

    Protect the paint. Trust your teammates.

    Great defenses work together. Players will learn how to defend as a team through help-side positioning, communication, rotations, and recovery techniques. This session focuses on becoming a smarter defender who understands how to impact the game beyond their individual matchup.

    • Closeouts and recovery
    • Team defensive principles

    Defend the action. Finish the play.

    Players will learn how to impact the game beyond simply guarding their matchup. This session focuses on defending screens, cuts, and offensive actions while developing the positioning, toughness, and awareness needed to create stops and finish possessions with rebounds.

    • Defending screens and cuts
    • Off-ball positioning
    • Creating deflections
    • Boxing out and rebounding
    • Turning stops into opportunities

    Put it all together.

    Players will apply everything they have learned through competitive, game-speed situations. This final session focuses on effort, communication, toughness, and executing defensive principles under pressure to become a complete defender.
